From October 2024 until the end of the project in January 2026, C-Sa\u00fade \u00a0implemented all Avante program activities in Mozambique. Avante used sustainable service models in the community and health facilities, across multiple areas of the national response. In addition to the support provided to the Ministry of Health at the central level, the Avante program had a programmatic focus in Zamb\u00e9zia province, which has the highest number of people living with HIV in the country. Within Avante, in Zamb\u00e9zia province, C-Sa\u00fade supported 141 health facilities serving over 370,000 patients receiving antiretroviral treatment across 19 districts. C-Sa\u00fade implemented activities in six Strategic Areas: Human Resources for Health \u2013 The recruitment, training, and mentoring of health professionals, lay personnel, and volunteers werethe backbone of the Avante program. HIV Prevention \u2013 Violence Prevention services; HIV Testing Services (HTS); and HIV Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) services. Care and Treatment (C&amp;T) \u2013 C-Sa\u00fade strengthened patient-centered C&amp;T services for HIV and TB by increasing access to and use of viral load testing; the Cervical Cancer Program (CECAP); C&amp;T services for pregnant and breastfeeding women; and pediatric HIV services. Laboratory \u2013 C-Sa\u00fade enhanced the provincial laboratory in Zamb\u00e9zia and the supported health facility laboratories, supporting External Quality Assessments at the national and provincial levels. Data Systems \u2013 C-Sa\u00fade implemented centrally developed systems and ensured the integrity of the database, providing data to clinicians to improve services. Program Improvement (PI) \u2013 C-Sa\u00fade supported a robust PI system, adapting implementation based on daily, weekly, and monthly reviews of PI indicators.
