Recentemente, o Hospital Central de Quelimane, em colabora\u00e7\u00e3o com a C-Sa\u00fade e com o financiamento do PEPFAR, promoveu uma forma\u00e7\u00e3o essencial sobre Doen\u00e7a Avan\u00e7ada por HIV. Este evento n\u00e3o apenas destaca a import\u00e2ncia da capacita\u00e7\u00e3o dos profissionais de sa\u00fade, mas tamb\u00e9m evidencia o compromisso da C-Sa\u00fade em apoiar os cuidados de sa\u00fade e tratamento do HIV na prov\u00edncia da Zamb\u00e9zia.<\/span><\/p>\n

A forma\u00e7\u00e3o teve como principal objectivo capacitar m\u00e9dicos, enfermeiros e estudantes de medicina sobre o pacote de cuidados a serem prestados a utentes com Doen\u00e7a Avan\u00e7ada. Este tipo de doen\u00e7a \u00e9 caracterizado por uma progress\u00e3o significativa da infec\u00e7\u00e3o pelo HIV, resultando em complica\u00e7\u00f5es graves e comprometendo a qualidade de vida dos pacientes. As causas da Doen\u00e7a Avan\u00e7ada podem incluir a falta de acesso a tratamento eficaz, ades\u00e3o inadequada ao tratamento antirretroviral e a presen\u00e7a de outras infec\u00e7\u00f5es oportunistas. As consequ\u00eancias para os pacientes s\u00e3o severas, incluindo o aumento da mortalidade, a deteriora\u00e7\u00e3o do estado geral de sa\u00fade e a necessidade de interven\u00e7\u00f5es m\u00e9dicas mais complexas.<\/span><\/p>\n

A forma\u00e7\u00e3o contou com uma participa\u00e7\u00e3o expressiva de 74 profissionais de diferentes sectores do hospital, incluindo servi\u00e7os de urg\u00eancia e enfermarias. A Dra. Maria Madeira, Surpervisora Provincial do Programa HIV respons\u00e1vel pela apresenta\u00e7\u00e3o, iniciou as actividades com uma introdu\u00e7\u00e3o ao tema, seguida de uma discuss\u00e3o interacctiva que permitiu aos Pontos Focais de Doen\u00e7a Avan\u00e7ada do hospital enriquecerem o debate. A sess\u00e3o foi conclu\u00edda com uma din\u00e2mica de perguntas e respostas, onde os participantes puderam esclarecer d\u00favidas espec\u00edficas, como a interpreta\u00e7\u00e3o de resultados de TB-LAM.<\/span><\/p>\n

O retorno obtido foi extremamente positivo, refletindo a satisfa\u00e7\u00e3o dos participantes com o n\u00edvel de interac\u00e7\u00e3o e os conhecimentos adquiridos. A forma\u00e7\u00e3o n\u00e3o apenas ofereceu uma nova abordagem para a Doen\u00e7a Avan\u00e7ada, mas tamb\u00e9m promoveu uma mudan\u00e7a imediata nas pr\u00e1ticas cl\u00ednicas a n\u00edvel local. Foi decidido que as Enfermarias de Cirurgia e Gineco-Obstetr\u00edcia, assim como os respectivos servi\u00e7os de urg\u00eancia, iniciariam a implementa\u00e7\u00e3o desta nova abordagem, enquanto as \u00e1reas de Medicina e Pediatria continuariam a aprimorar seu desempenho.<\/span><\/p>\n

A C-Sa\u00fade, como parceira do Minist\u00e9rio da Sa\u00fade, reafirma seu compromisso com a capacita\u00e7\u00e3o cont\u00ednua dos profissionais de sa\u00fade na prov\u00edncia da Zamb\u00e9zia. Novas forma\u00e7\u00f5es e ac\u00e7\u00f5es de acompanhamento est\u00e3o previstas, visando garantir a implementa\u00e7\u00e3o eficaz das novas directrizes de atendimento. Avalia\u00e7\u00f5es internas regulares ser\u00e3o realizadas para monitorar o progresso e assegurar que os conhecimentos adquiridos sejam aplicados na pr\u00e1tica di\u00e1ria do hospital.<\/span><\/p>\n

The main objective of the training was to equip doctors, nurses, and medical students with the knowledge needed to provide care for patients with Advanced Disease. This type of illness is characterized by significant progression of HIV infection, resulting in severe complications and compromising the patient’s quality of life. The causes of Advanced Disease may include lack of access to effective treatment, inadequate adherence to antiretroviral treatment, and the presence of other opportunistic infections. The consequences for patients are severe, including increased mortality, deterioration of general health, and the need for more complex medical interventions. The training saw strong participation from 74 professionals from various departments of the hospital, including emergency services and wards. Dr. Maria Madeira, Provincial Supervisor of the HIV Program and responsible for the presentation, began the activities with an introduction to the topic, followed by an interactive discussion that allowed the hospital’s Advanced Disease Focal Points to enrich the debate. The session ended with a Q&A segment where participants were able to clarify specific doubts, such as the interpretation of tuberculosis results (TB-LAM). This event not only emphasizes the importance of training healthcare professionals but also highlights C-Sa\u00fade’s commitment to supporting HIV care and treatment in Zamb\u00e9zia province. The main objective of the training was to equip doctors, nurses, and medical students with the knowledge needed to provide care for patients with Advanced Disease. This type of illness is characterized by significant progression of HIV infection, resulting in severe complications and compromising the patient’s quality of life. The causes of Advanced Disease may include lack of access to effective treatment, inadequate adherence to antiretroviral treatment, and the presence of other opportunistic infections. The consequences for patients are severe, including increased mortality, deterioration of general health, and the need for more complex medical interventions. The training saw strong participation from 74 professionals from various departments of the hospital, including emergency services and wards. Dr. Maria Madeira, Provincial Supervisor of the HIV Program and responsible for the presentation, began the activities with an introduction to the topic, followed by an interactive discussion that allowed the hospital’s Advanced Disease Focal Points to enrich the debate. The session ended with a Q&A segment where participants were able to clarify specific doubts, such as the interpretation of tuberculosis results (TB-LAM). The feedback received was extremely positive, reflecting the participants’ satisfaction with the level of interaction and the knowledge gained. The training not only provided a new approach to Advanced Disease but also led to an immediate change in clinical practices at the local level. It was decided that the Surgery and Gyneco-Obstetrics Wards, along with their respective emergency services, would begin implementing this new approach, while the areas of Medicine and Pediatrics would continue to improve their performance. C-Sa\u00fade, as a partner of the Ministry of Health, reaffirms its commitment to the continuous training of healthcare professionals in Zamb\u00e9zia province. New training sessions and follow-up actions are planned to ensure the effective implementation of the new care guidelines. Regular internal evaluations will be conducted to monitor progress and ensure that the knowledge gained is applied in the daily practice of the hospital. Furthermore, the expansion plan for the training to other health facilities is already underway, including a similar session at Hospital Geral de Quelimane. C-Sa\u00fade continues to work hard to improve the quality of care for users, demonstrating that training and capacity building are fundamental pillars for strengthening the health system in Zambezia province and, consequently, for the fight against HIV and its complications.
