C-Saúde

SESP POC

The Electronic Patient Tracking System (SESP) at the point of care is developed and piloted under the guidance of the Mozambique Defence Armed Forces (FADM) and funded by the U.S. Department of Defense through the international NGO Jhpiego.

The existing Electronic Patient Tracking System (SESP) in Mozambique is primarily based on retrospective data entry. With the exception of data from pharmacies (prescriptions and dispensations), which are entered at the point of care, data entry is done using paper forms that are directed to the data room, where data clerks input the information into the EPTS. In large health facilities, retrospective data entry can lead to delays, reducing the efficiency of data use. In response, C-Saúde is working to modify the SESP to allow data entry to occur at the points of care.
