Health Information Systems
C-Saúde supports the Government of Mozambique in developing, strengthening, and implementing Health Information Systems (HIS). C-Saúde provides direct support to MOH through the allocation of health information systems specialists, including developers and business analysts, who support MOH’s Electronic Medical Record system (SIS-RME).
SIS-RME is a new system, with its development led by the MOH in Mozambique and envisioned to be used at the point of care of all health facilities for all services of the National Health System.
While C-Saúde focuses its support to SIS-RME, it also supports the following systems that will eventually be transitioned to SIS-RME:
Electronic Patient Tracking System (EPTS)
Development and maintenance of the EPTS/SESP for the provision of HIV prevention, care and treatment services. SESP is used at over 670 health facilities throughout the country and covers services specifically related to HIV, including: HIV/TB, psychosocial support, PrEP, advanced HIV disease, mental health, home visits, and consultations for children at risk.
Pharmacy Systems
Development and maintenance of a pharmacy system called iDMED. IDMED Is used at over 370 pharmacies throughout the country and isinteroperable with SESP. iDMED focuses on the management of HIV treatment and TB preventive medicines.
Interoperability with Laboratory Systems
C-Saúde leads the development of an interoperability solution between the electronic laboratory information system (DISA Lab) and SESP, facilitating the reporting and communication of test results to patients, including viral load, GeneXpert TB, PCR (HIV DNA) and CD4.
mUzima Mobile Application
C-Saúde has adapted and is currently implementing the mUzima™ mobile application, which is open source and interoperable with SESP, on a national scale to support testing in the community approach to index cases and home visits.
Mentoring
Under the leadership of MOH, C-Saúde developed a Mentoring application that is used to record mentoring sessions for health professionals. The modular solution with offline capabilities captures mentoring activities performed by health professionals at health facilities, as part of the MOH Program Improvement strategy.
Voluntary Medical Maculina Circumcision Demand Creation Application (CMMV)
C-Saúde developed diversified tools for the self-registration of interested users to perform circumcision, increasing demand for circumcision VMMC services.
Information Security
C-Saúde has a team specialized in the area of Information Security and Systems Administration. All central systems and applications supported by C-Saúde generate real-time data that is correlated with threat information, allowing the rapid identification of existing threats in the network and systems. Information collected is periodically reviewed by our experts to continuously improve C-Saúde’s security infrastructure. C-Saúde has created tools and procedures that allow awareness sessions to be held on the protection of patient data (whether in person or online), encryption of information on disk and on the network and procedures on how to deal with sensitive information, whether this information is in physical or digital format.
